Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an unexpected visit to Saudi Arabia on his way to attend the G-7 summit in Japan.
The purpose of the visit was to enhance bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In addition to the surprise stop in Saudi Arabia, President Zelenskyy is poised to attend the G-7 summit in Hiroshima, Japan.
This summit comes at a crucial time as the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues.
Zelenskyy aims to strengthen ties with G-7 nations and seek military support, including modern U.S.-made fighter jets, as well as tougher sanctions on Russia.
The G-7 nations have recently announced new sanctions to curb Russia's access to technology, industrial equipment, and services supporting its war efforts.
