The governor of Borno state, Babagana Umara Zulum has visited Malam-Fatori for the fourth time since 2020 to assess and resettle Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The governor also approved 20 patrol vehicles for the Nigerian military as support to fight insurgency.
He had visited Malam-Fatori, Abadam local government area in February 2020, July 2021 and October 2021, before his latest visit on the 6th of March 2022.
The governor had visited to reassess works done in preparation for resettling IDPs in the area.
The governor however inspected 1,000 temporary homes for resettling the IDPs before their permanent houses are fully reconstructed.
While giving the order for rehabilitating a healthcare center and a mosque around the cattle market in the town, the governor ordered for the construction of five blocks of class rooms at a central primary school within the next ten days.
He further expressed satisfaction on the work done so far in the area.
He added that every returnee will be given N100,000 support as an approach to resettle the community.
