Zulum Cautions On Rules As Borno APC Adopts Consensus

The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum has called for adherence to rules and regulations when APC adopted consensus option for its ward Congress.

The  governor stated this while showing concerns over how non-compliance of party's rules and regulations has affected the party's chances in the previous election.

He made the call during a critical stakeholders' meeting of the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday in Maiduguri.

The Acting state chairman of the party, Ali Bukar Dolori assured all prospective contestants would be given equal opportunity.

In a statement, the state's Deputy Governor, Umar Kadafur "moved for the adoption of consensus for the ward Congresses and was seconded by a former member of the house of Representatives, Abdu Musa."

The motion was later put to vote and members unanimously agreed on adopting the consensus.

Among those present in the meeting were former members of the state and national assembly, party executives, 27 Local Government Councils' Chairmen, members of state executive council, all 10 serving members of House of Representatives, State House of Assembly, Former Deputy Governors Maina Ma'aji Lawan and Kashim Shetima among others.
