Zulum Supports 4,000 Residents In Gwoza, Approves Patrol Veh

The governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, has supported over 4,000 residents of Izge community in Gwoza Local Government Area of the state.

The governor led the distribution of wrappers and shadda materials to the women and men of the community which is on the border of the Sambisa forest in the southern part of the state. 

The governor also directed the renovation and equipping of the Izge Primary Healthcare Centre in the community.

He ordered the construction of fences for the primary and secondary schools in the community. 

“We are here basically to support our brothers and sisters in Izge to provide humanitarian support and to examine the capability of the institutions in this town, especially the school, the hospital and other public structures," Zulum said.

In order to emhace security of the community, Zulum approved the release of six patrol vehicles to the security agencies. 

As contained in a statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Malam Isa Gusau, on Thursday, the patrol vehicles would be shared among the military and volunteer groups.

The volunteer groups include the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), hunters and vigilantes. 

The governor also approved the construction of a road linking the command other towns. 

“We want to construct the road from here (Izge) to Gwoza through Bita and from here (Izge) to our own side of Gulak (in Adamawa State) Insha Allah."
