Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu on Wednesday afternoon issued the certificates of return were given Bola Tinubu and his running mate Kashim Shettima at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, which served as the site of the collation of election results.
The President-elect reaffirmed his dedication to Nigerian youths when taking the CoR and vowed to improve the nation.
“The road has been long, yet we worked it. The battle has been hard fought, yet we won it.
“By taking this sacrifice, I accept a sacred duty. I will work day and night to make Nigeria better.
“We are committed to the progress and development of Nigeria", Tinubu said.
Early on Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that the former Lagos governor received 8,794,726 votes to win the election, making him the new president-elect.
INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu declared Tinubu the winner and noted that he had met all legal conditions.
