Granit Xhaka is a Swiss footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Arsenal and captains the Switzerland national team.

Xhaka began his career at his hometown club Basel, winning the Swiss Super League in each of his first two seasons.  He began playing football alongside his sibling at youth levels in one of Swiss FC Concordia Basel in 2002.
