Kalvin Mark Phillips is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City and the England national team. A Leeds United academy graduate, Phillips made his first-team debut in 2015.
He started his football career for the young group of Wortley in 2003 and played until 2010. At age 14, in 2010, he joined the young group of Leeds United and started his profession at the club. He start his debut with the club in the late spring of 2014 and made his professional introduction to the club on 6 April 2015. He has spent his whole career at Leeds United, showing up and scoring more than 10 goals for the club.
On 11 April 2015, he moved to Leeds starting the 11 line-ups, making his home debut, and furthermore scored his first goal for the club in a 1-2 loss against Cardiff City at Elland Road. Toward the end of the season, with his noteworthy exhibitions, he was offered and acknowledged another two-year contract with the club.

On 31 July 2015, he was given the number 27 shirt for the remaining 2015-16 season. On 23rd June 2016, he signed a new three-year contract augmenting to remain at the club until the late spring of 2019. On 27 August 2016, he scored his first goal of the 2016-17 season, with a long-range free-kick in a 3-1 loss against Nottingham Forest.
On 6 August 2017, on the first day of the season for the 2017-18 Championship season, he scored twice in a 2-3 away win against Bolton. During that season, with his phenomenal structure, he stars for the club, scoring 7 goals and providing 3 assists.

During his 2018-19 season, he stars for the club, scoring once and giving 3 assists every one of the contests as Leeds completed the ordinary season in the third spot. That season, with his great exhibitions, he was chosen to the 2018-19 Championship EFL Team of the Year and furthermore was named the Yorkshire Evening Post Player of the Year for the 2018-19 season.

In September 2019, he signed another five-year contract with the club. On 19 October 2019, he scored his first goal of the 2019-20 season in a 1-0 win against Birmingham City. During his 2019-20 season, he showed up for the club, scoring 2 goals and giving 2 assists as Leeds United was promoted to Premier League by winning the 2019-20 EFL Championship title. That season, again with his great exhibitions, he was named in The Guardian’s Championship Team of the Season for 2019-20 and furthermore was named in the Professional Footballer’s Association’s 2019-20 Team of the Season.

On 12 September 2020, he stars in the Premier League in the opening round of the season in the 4-3 loss against ruling Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield. On 8 February 2021, he showed up for Leeds in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. On 23 May 2021 in the season end, he scored his first Premier League goal from a free kick in a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion. During his 2020-21 season, he showed up for the club, scoring once and giving 2 assists in every one of the rivalries as Leeds completed the season in the 10th spot.
Phillips was eligible to play for his country of birth, England, as well as Jamaica and the Republic of Ireland through his heritage. He ultimately chose to represent England and was called by Gareth South for the first time in August 2020, before receiving his first cap on 8 September versus Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.
