Mariano Damián Barbosa (born 27 July 1984) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Spanish club Villarreal CF as a goalkeeper.
Mariano Damián Barbosa (Lanus, Argentina, 27/07/1984) returned on a free transfer to the Yellow Submarine in the 2015/16 season after spending the previous campaign with Sevilla FC. From 2010 to 2014, Argentina was with UD Las Palmas, where he played for 170 matches, keeping 51 clean sheets. The Argentine goalkeeper made his debut in the Argentine top flight aged just 18 with CA Banfield. Next, he headed to Europe, where he first signed for Villarreal CF in 2005, playing 28 games, including six in the Champions League. From the Yellow Submarine, Barbosa moved to Recreativo Huelva, and then to Estudiantes de La Plata, CA River Plate, and Atlas de Guadalajara.
