Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays for Villarreal CF and the Nigeria national team as a winger.

Chukwueze was born in Umuahia Abia state. He is of Igbo descent and was brought up in a Christian family with a younger brother and a younger sister. He attended Government College Umuahia and Evangel Secondary School. He started playing football at the age of 8 and he admired Jay-Jay Okocha as his football idol growing up

Samu Chukwueze is a very attacking, left-footed winger with a devilish speed who was formed in the youth categories of Future Hop and later at the New Generation Academy and Diamond Academy. In 2015, Chukwueze played in the FIFA U17 World Cup held in Chile. In the 2017/2018 season, he excelled in the U19 (Juvenil A) team and ended the campaign as a key player for Villarreal B during their play-off campaign. The next season he took the definitive step to the first team.

He has been compared to Arjen Robben because of his skillset
