 Ede is a town situated in Osun State, southwestern Nigeria. It is located along the Osun River and serves as a point on the railroad from Lagos, which is approximately 180 kilometers (110 miles) southwest. Additionally, Ede is at the intersection of roads leading from Oshogbo, Ogbomosho, and Ile-Ife.

Ede is divided into two local government areas: Ede North and Ede South Local Governments. According to the 2006 Population Census, Ede had a population of 159,866 people at that time. Since then, the population may have increased due to natural growth and other factors.
