Typically, process automation refers to the use of software, hardware, microcontrollers, and electromechanical equipment to automate manual tasks and processes.

It can help streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve accuracy and efficiency.

It can also help to reduce human error and increase productivity.

Examples of automation equipment families include pneumatics, hydraulics, sensors, cylinders, valves, PID controllers, VFDs, PLCs, SCADA, HMI, DCS, etc.

However, the old names behind process automation equipment are known as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

These include names like Siemens, Omron, Schneider, Allen Bradley, Honeywell, ABB, etc.

In Nigeria, products from these OEMs are easily spotted flooding the markets as well as production floors of manufacturing industries.

Recently, a Nigerian oil and gas integrated service company, Development TAG Energy Group, in partnership with Bosch Rexroth Africa Development, has expressed commitment to making available newer automation products to serve the Nigerian market along with the familiar OEM products.

Under the partnership, TAG Energy will serve as a distributor for Bosch Rexroth Africa Development’s products and services, providing the Nigerian market with access to high-quality and reliable hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation solutions.

Chief Executive Officer of TAG Energy Group, Yemi Gbadamosi, who was excited by the collaboration, said it would ease their customers in reaching out to the products.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to providing our customers with the best-in-class solutions to meet their needs.

"Together, we will be able to offer a comprehensive range of solutions that will help them increase efficiency and productivity while reducing costs and we look forward to working closely with Bosch Rexroth Africa Development to serve the Nigerian market.”
