5 Best WhatsApp Alternatives For 2021

WhatsApp users on Wednesday received a pop-up, directing users to accept the new Terms of Service, failing which the users will have to forgo using the app.

The Facebook-owned company has set February 8 as the deadline to accept its new norm. Users have till February 8, 2021 to accept these or be barred from using the platform.

WhatsApp updating its terms of service and privacy policy is not new. Most software services do update their services occasionally.

However, there are concerns regarding these new policies. The users fear that the new privacy policy will be used by the Facebook-owned platform to spy on them.

After the users received an in-app notification to accept the new policy, they took to social media to share their concerns and complain about the issue of data privacy. Some users suggested that they were switching from WhatsApp to other platforms.

WhatsApp keeps user information under the Automatically Collected Information header and further categorises it into four sub-heads, namely: Location Information, Device and Connection Information, Usage and Log Information, and Cookies.
