History of Balanga

Balanga Local Government Area is one of the eleven Local Government Areas in Gombe State, Nigeria. It falls under the southern senatorial district of the state. The administrative headquarters of Balanga LGA is located at Talasse town.

Balanga LGA is bordered by Yemaltu-Deba LGA to the north, Adamawa State to the south and east, and Shongom, Kaltungo, and Akko LGA to the west. Balanga LGA encompasses a total area of 1,626 square kilometers.

The towns and villages that make up Balanga LGA include Bambam, Balanga, Tallase, Nyuwar, Kulani, Gelengu, Kwarge Bassa, and Bangu.
Population:The population of Balanga LGA is estimated at 176,944 inhabitants. The vast majority of the population are members of the Hausa and Waja tribes. The Hausa and Waja languages are spoken extensively in the area.
