History of Gujba

Gujba Local Government Area is located in Yobe State, Nigeria, in the northeastern region. Its headquarters is situated in the town of Buni Yadi at coordinates 11°16′08″N 11°55′49″E, toward the south of the area, while the town of Gujba lies in the north.

Gujba LGA covers an area of 3,239 square kilometers and had a population of 130,088 according to the 2006 census. However, recent estimates suggest a population of around 148,303 inhabitants.The postal code for Gujba LGA is 621.

Gujba LGA was formerly part of the Fika Emirate. Several towns and villages make up Gujba LGA, including Muktum, Nannawaji, Katarko, Goniri, Buni Yadi, Jiri, Kilbiri, and Munyim Kura. The estimated population of Gujba LGA is predominantly composed of the Hausa and Fulani ethnic groups. The Hausa and Fulfulde (Fufulde) languages are widely spoken in the area
