History of Kaiama

Kaiama Local Government Area is situated in northwestern Kwara State, Nigeria. The headquarters of the LGA is in the town of Kaiama. Kaiama LGA covers an extensive area of 6,971 km2. As of the 2006 census, Kaiama had a population of 124,164 inhabitants.

Kaiama Local Government was created in 1984. It shares a boundary with Oyo State in the South and Niger State in the North. The LGA is divided into 10 ward. Some of the major towns in Kaiama LGA include Kaiama, Banni, Kemanji, Kanikoro, Adena, Aboki, Woro, and Kugiji.

Bokobaru, Hausa, Baruba, and Fulani are the predominant languages spoken in these towns. The postal code for Kaiama Local Government Area is 242.
