Soba Town/City

History of Soba

Soba Local Government Area is situated in Kaduna State, Nigeria, within the North-west geopolitical zone. Its administrative headquarters is located in the town of Maigana. Soba LGA is bordered by several other local government areas including Makarfi, Sabon Gari, Zaria, Igabi, Kauru, and Ikara LGAs.

As of the 2006 census, Soba LGA had a population of 293,270 inhabitants.
Soba LGA comprises several towns and villages such as Yakassai, Lungu, Gamagira, Turawa, Dinya, Magada, Gimba, and Damari, among others.
The population of Soba LGA is primarily composed of members from the Hausa, Fulani, and Mangu ethnic groups. The predominant language spoken in the area is the Hausa language.
