As Kano hopes for peaceful polls this weekend, 55 suspects have been arrested for alleged political thuggery and vandalism in Kumbosto Local Government Area.
The Spokesman of the Corps, DSC Ibrahim Abdullahi confirmed the arrest on Thursday in Kano.
He said that the suspects on Thursday attacked unsuspecting residents, snatched valuables, destroyed and set vehicles ablaze along the Zaria Road flyover.
“We have recovered dangerous weapons from the suspects and commenced an investigation,” he said, adding that the suspects would be charged to court.
While the NSCDC was making these arrests, another batch of armed youths clashed resulting in deaths and injuries along Zaria road in the state.
With barely two days to elections, there have been notable sightings of thugs openly carrying weapons in some parts of the state.
