The governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has told the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike that he would lose the 2023 presidential race but as a good loser.
Ganduje made the comments in a viral video after a meeting with Wike.
Wike had visited Ganduje on Monday in Kano State soliciting his support.
In the viral video, Ganduje said, “At the end of it (election), you will lose but you will be a good loser.
“I appreciate good losers because they have the courage and since you are doing this peacefully, then you will live long to fight again."
He further stated that it was a misconception from people to call Wike 'Wicked Wike'.
He said, “When your opponents when those who are fighting you describe you as ‘Wicked Wike’.
"I listen to the speech across the country, ashe (so) this Wike is not wicked but this Wike is the Wise Wike.
"So, I congratulate you, the wise Wike. Thank you and God bless.”
While speaking, Wike said he would have buried his ambition had Ganduje declared to run.
He stated that “If Ganduje is running for the presidency, some of us will quickly withdraw our ambitions but thank God he is not running and I’m sure he will help me to make it," as reported by Daily Trust.
He further revealed that while the goal is to unite and save the country, party differences should not matter.
