President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state, saying he deserves to be reelected in the forthcoming 2023 gubernatorial election.
Buhari appreciated the governor for keeping his campaign promises to the people.
Buhari made this known on Thursday when he visited the state to commission some projects.
Speaking in Maiduguri, the state's capital, Buhari said: ''Your Excellency (governor Zulum), I cannot remember the number of projects I commissioned during your first tenure, these laudable projects are impressive. I thank you.
''We also acknowledge the excellent work that you have done, working closely with the Federal Government and other stakeholders, to bring back the IDPs and refugees from Cameroon and other neighbouring countries."
"I think the Governor deserves another term", he added.
During the visit, the President commissioned a power plant constructed by the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) amongst other projects.
The projects include the dualized Ahmadu Bello Way, Shehu Sanda Kura Road, Lafiya Road and Mogoram Road in Maiduguri, the state's capital.
Others include an Ultra-Modern Market on Bama Road, newly constructed Staff Quarters for the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Hon. Muktar Betara Aliyu Cancer Centre and the newly constructed Bolari Market Road.
