Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), stated on Monday that plans had been finalised for the appointment of nine permanent secretaries to head the FCT Administration's nine secretariats.
According to reports, Wike announced during a press briefing in Abuja yesterday after inspecting several road developments in the federal capital city.
He emphasised that this decision is consistent with the regulations established in the FCT Civil Service Commission Act of 2018, which was approved by President Bola Tinubu.
Wike also expressed his discontent with the delays in file processing and warned the directors against taking any steps that could impede the administration's progress.
The minister also noted that he has approved the progress of around 8,000 personnel in the FCT while emphasising that the individuals are expected to reciprocate by showing more dedication and commitment to their jobs.
“President Tinubu in his wisdom and Renewed Hope Agenda, insisted that the 2018 Act must be implemented, which has given the FCT a Civil Service Commission.
“By this, the FCTA will have its own Head of Service, and then of course, it will have permanent secretaries for the nine Secretariats.
"But again, that means that we will require a lot of commitments from them,” he said.
