Prominent Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has finally addressed the allegations that she owes a debt of N250,000 to her late colleague, Murphy Afolabi.
Earlier today, during Murphy Afolabi’s 8-day Fidau Prayer, which was held in his honour, the burial committee took the opportunity to publicly call out Adunni Ade for the alleged debt.
The committee claimed that she owed Murphy Afolabi a sum of N250,000 prior to his passing, and they urged her to repay the money.
In response to these claims, Adunni Ade’s team released a public statement to debunk the reports of her indebtedness to the late actor.
According to the statement shared on the actress’ Instagram page, Murphy Afolabi had approached Adunni Ade for a job last year and had paid her N150,000 as an upfront fee.
However, due to the unfortunate death of her brother, she was unable to fulfil the job and promptly refunded the full amount to Murphy Afolabi when he attempted to enter into another agreement with her.
To provide evidence supporting her claims, Adunni Ade shared screenshots of her debit transaction, validating the refund made to the late actor.
