One month after five policemen and a civilian couple were killed during an attack at Ngor Okpala junction, Imo State, two policemen have lost their lives in a similar attack.
Armed men stuck today at the police checkpoint located at Okpala Junction along Owerri/Aba Road, Ngor Okpala council area of the State has further heightened tension in the area.
Reports had it that several people were wounded during the sporadic shootings by the gunmen.
One of the travellers who preferred to remain anonymous confirmed to our correspondent that two police officers were killed while he saw one who was injured.
“I saw the lifeless body while coming to work this morning.
"Two killed and one injured inside police van”, the source shared.
As of the time of going to press, teams of policemen were drafted to the area even as eforts to speak with the State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, to confirm the incident were not fruitful.
