Anambra Lawmaker Hails Soludo Over Construction Of Mmiata Anam-Nzam Road

The member representing Anambra West Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Patrick Obalum-Udoba has hailed Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the ongoing construction of Mmiata Anam-Nzam Road.

According to Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Udoba gave the commendation at his Umueze Anam country home on Tuesday.

He said that the road is very strategic to the people of the area, as it is one of the shortest routes for people in Anambra West to connect to their local government headquarters at Nzam.

The Lawmaker who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Transport eulogized the contractor handling the project for the pace and quality of work done so far and assured that his constituents will take ownership of the project to ensure the safety of both the workers and the equipment of the contracting firm handling the road project.

Also speaking, the traditional ruler of Umuoba Anam, Igwe George Ekwealor noted that as an agrarian people, the Mmiata Anam-Nzam road when completed would enhance the smooth transportation of farm produce from Nzam and its environs to the urban cities and commended Governor Soludo for remembering their people.

For a community leader in the area, Chief Boniface Ilegbunam, the road had been a nightmare to the people of Anambra West since the creation of the local government more than two decades ago and prayed to God to bless Governor Soludo for living up to his campaign promises to Ndi Anambra West.

Chief Ilegbunam equally appealed to the federal government to recommence the construction of Umueze Anam-Ibaji-Abuja federal road which he said that when completed, will reduce the time travelling from Anambra to Abuja to just three hours.
