Zambia wildlife ranger Neddy Mulimo has been given the renowned award of Tusk Wildlife Ranger of the year after risking his life while braving danger to safeguard Africa's wildlife.

These rangers are constantly on guard as they patrol the sizable Kafue National Park in Zambia. Neddy Mulimo is the team lead.

He is employed with Game Rangers International's anti-poaching division, a non-profit wildlife preservation group founded in Zambia in 2008.

Mulimo's efforts have been recognized, and he was given the renowned Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award for the year.

The Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award, sponsored by the Nick Maughan Foundation and introduced by Prince William in 2013, honours the men and women who brave danger every day to safeguard Africa's wildlife.

"The animals we have need to be looked after and be passed on to future generations," said Mulimo.

Mulimo initially worked for the National Parks and Wildlife division of the Zambian government (now known as the Department of National Parks and Wildlife) back in 1985.
