Niger State Governor, Umar Muhammad Bago has rated his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed as on of the best performing governors in Nigeria.
Bago who was speaking to journalist on Sunday in Bauchi said Governor Mohammed has stood out among his peers considering the infrastructural development in the state.
He explained that after going round the city to see for himself, he was sure to say the people of Bauchi are "fortunate to have him (Governor Mohammed) as a leader."
As contained in a statement by Mukhtar Gidado, the Bauchi State Governor's media aide, Bago noted that while Bauchi and Niger were created on the same day, they have been fortunate in having successive leaders determined to implement the developmental blueprint of the state.
He further urged residents of the state to support policies and programmes of the Governor Mohammed-led administration for more development.
He partly said: "Niger and Bauchi state were brother and sister. Niger is the brother Bauchi is the sister because we are created the same day and we share a lot of similarities.
"The executive governor of Bauchi State is my senior brother and my mentor. He has been so good to me even when he was a minister while I was still a small boy.
"He gave all the kind of encouragement that is needed and today I am a governor.
"Governor Bala Mohammed is one of the best performing governors in Nigeria irrespective of party.
"He has done wonderfully well in terms of infrastructural development. I have seen a lots of roads and houses. After politics, it is about work for the people."
