The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has been conferred with the traditional title of Sadaukin Jama'are by the Jama'are Emirate Council of the state.

This is contained in a letter presented to the Governor by a powerful delegation sent by the Emir of Jama'are, Alhaji Ahmad Muhammad Wabi.

According to the letter, the conferment of the traditional title on Governor Mohammed was in recognition of his commitment to repositioning the state's traditional institutions to enable them to compete favourably with their counterparts.

The Emirate also congratulated the Governor for his recent victory at the Supreme Court, describing it as the overall success of the state.

Receiving the letter at the State Government House on Monday, the governor expressed appreciation for the honour and pledged to do more in his efforts to restore the lost glory of the state's traditional institutions.

The letter partly reads: "We, the members of Jama'are Emirate Council, and the people of the Emirate followed with keen interest your legal battles from the Election Petition Tribunal, to the Court of Appeal and finally the Supreme Court.

"The verdict of the Supreme Court last weekend did not come to us as a surprise due to your previous successes in various legal tussles.

"The verdict only confirmed the mandate given to you by the voters to continue the good work you started.

"As a result of the tremendous achievements you recorded in the State and Jama'are in particular, I and the members of the Council deemed it necessary to reciprocate your good gestures with the title of SADAUKIN Jama'are.

"It is your love for Jama'are that made you to interact, upgrade our village areas to District Areas with their respective District Heads and their perks of office, upgrade and reconstruct the Emirs Palace, the intention to dualise the major street of Jama'are and Jama'are-Adamami road this year."
