Borno Government Upskills 200 Teachers With Digital Training

Borno State Government through the Adolescent Girls Initiative For Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) has commenced training 200 teachers in the state in digital skills.

AGILE is a five-year project initiated by the Federal Government with the support of the World Bank to promote secondary education and empower adolescent girls.

The training is being executed in Borno, Ekiti, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi and Plateau States.

Ibrahim Baba, the Project Coordinator, revealed this at the inauguration of the exercise in Maiduguri on Thursday.

Baba who Ali-Bukar Dogo, Component 3 Lead, represented, said the training was organised to provide functional education through digital and vocational skills to the participants.

He added that the project was in line with the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum’s educational transformation programme aimed at improving the quality of teachers, and consequently importing relevant knowledge into their students.

Baba advised the participants to be attentive to all training sessions to get the best out of them.

In his remark, Yakaru Mustapha, the Component Lead, Digital and Life Skills,  noted that the participants were drawn from 100 schools across the 27 local government areas of the state.

According to Mustapha, the training will expose the participants to digital skills, thereby enabling them to discharge their duties effectively.
