Buni assures commitment to sustain peace, security in Yobe

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has assured his administration's commitment to sustaining peace and security in the state through the continuous support to security agencies, especially in border patrol. 

The governor gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving the Assistant Controller General of Immigration Zone C, Sunday James at the State Government House in Damaturu, the state capital. 

While commending security agencies for their efforts in addressing terrorism and other crimes in the Northeast, he said his administration remains resolute towards ensuring a lasting peace and security in the state.

He equally urged the security agencies to form a joint team to checkmate infiltration of criminals into border states by conducting joint patrol exercises. 

As contained in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, the governor's spokesperson, Buni urged them also liaise with traditional and community leaders to easily identify areas and persons involved in criminal activities.

Meanwhile on his part, Assistant Controller General of Immigration Zone C, Sunday James commended the governor for his continuous support to the security agencies in the fight against crimes in the state.

He said: "Your Excellency, l am impressed with the support rendered by your government, which has translated into the growing peace and security enjoyed across the state.

"The success recorded in the war against the insurgency and crime generally is only possible through your support."
