A supporter of incumbent President Donald Trump has said that he wants his $2.5 million back after he donated it to fund an investigation into Trump's election fraud claims.
The supporter, who is also a venture capitalist, Frederic Eshelman, said that he donated the sum of $2.5m to the True the Vote "election ethics" group that vowed to “investigate, litigate, and expose suspected illegal balloting and fraud in the 2020 general election”.
Eshelman, according to Bloomberg, filed a lawsuit after the True the Vote group dropped all its lawsuits, refusing to give any explanation to Eshelman as to why the lawsuits were dropped.
Eshelman explained that his “requests were consistently met with vague responses, platitudes, and empty promises”.
Trump, who is yet to concede defeat, continues to make unfounded claims of election fraud, while all his legal actions end nowhere.

The only response from the True the Vote group was one posted on their website stating, “While we stand by the voters’ testimony that was brought forth, barriers to advancing our arguments, coupled with constraints on time, made it necessary for us to pursue a different path.
“Our mission is much bigger than just one election. It is about repairing the system for all future elections.”
