A California man, Byron Burkhart, 29, has been charged with murder in connection with a road rage shooting that resulted in the death of 4-year-old Gor Adamyan.
The incident occurred on the Sierra Highway in Lancaster last week, where Burkhart allegedly fired eight shots into the vehicle carrying the young boy and his parents.
Gor Adamyan was shot in the backseat and later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Byron Burkhart faces charges including one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, one count of shooting at an occupied vehicle, and five counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, expressing sorrow over the tragedy, emphasized the devastating and senseless nature of the road rage incident.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Gascón expressed condolences, stating, "Our hearts ache for the tragic loss of a young life in such a devastating and senseless act of road rage."
The victim vehicle's camera reportedly captured Burkhart's license plate during the incident, contributing to the charges brought against him.
