In a strong response to the Group of Seven (G-7) summit held in Hiroshima, China summoned Japan's envoy and criticized Britain.

The state-backed Chinese newspaper, Global Times, also reported the G-7 as an "anti-China workshop."

China's Foreign Ministry firmly opposed the G-7's statement and summoned Japan's ambassador as a pointed protest to the summit host.

The joint communique issued by the G-7 on Saturday specifically addressed China's actions concerning Taiwan, nuclear weapons, economic coercion, and human rights abuses.

These statements underscore the broad-ranging tensions between China and the group of wealthy countries, including the United States.

Russia, a close ally of China, also condemned the G-7, referring to it as an "incubator" of anti-Russian and anti-Chinese sentiment.

China's embassy in Britain also urged the country to cease its disparaging remarks about China after British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak labeled China as the world's greatest challenge to security and prosperity.

The choice of Hiroshima as the summit venue and Japan's focus on nuclear disarmament further intensified tensions, with China perceiving it as an attempt to create an anti-China movement.
