CITAD empowers PWDs with skills for employment in Kano

The Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) on Wednesday conducted a training session for the Persons With Disabilities in Kano.

According to the organization, the training aimed to impart essential soft skills with the goal of enhancing the employability of the participants.

CITAD’s Executive Director, Engr. Y.Z Ya’u, emphasized that the initiative’s goal is to bridge the employment gap for PWDs in Kano state, equipping them with crucial skills for workplace success.

The ED, who was represented by Mr. Buhari Abba, revealed that the training includes vital soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Mr. Abba emphasized the significance of these skills in enabling PWDs to effectively compete for job opportunities.

“The program prepares youth by familiarizing them with recruiters' requirements, interview strategies, and effective communication techniques,” he said.

Malam Hamza Aminu Fagge, the Coordinator for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) at CITAD, praised the Centre’s dedication to empowering PWDs, noting that this endeavor has the potential to greatly improve their lives.
