The Ogun State So-Safe Corps has rescued one Bamidele Mujeeb, a commercial motorcyclist from the den of armed robbers.

According to the So-Safe Corps spokesperson, Moruf Yusuf in a signed press statement, Mujeeb was rescued from the clutches of the armed robbers on Friday, September 9, 2022.

The So-Safe Corps spokesperson revealed that the operation came about through the directive handed down by the State Commander, Soji Ganzallo who asked that the Divisions under the Area Command be put on their toes to curb series of crime emanating from some commercial motorcyclists and to put a stop to miscreants attacking commercial motorcyclists.

"On this fateful day, Mr. Ibrahim Oluwaseun, a 22-year-old resident of Olorogbo Compound, Asheko/Ibatefin Area of Ipokia Local Government, pretended to be a passenger and told the victim to take him from Aferiku Street, Idirko to Obalana Street, along Bebe road, leading to the Republic of Benin.

"The suspect, on robbery mission, later instructed the bike man to go through other narrow route that leads to the same destination.

"The suspect then brought out a gun, later discovered to be a toy gun, and commanded that he surrender himself and the bike or lose his life.

"At the scene, the So-Safe Patrol Team, Idiroko Division, led by CSC Abdulkareem Muhammad, witnessed the funny act, pounced on the suspect and got him arrested," the statement concluded.

Also, during preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to the crime.

The victim, the suspect and the exhibit; a motorcycle and a toy gun, have been handed over to the Nigerian Police, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.
