An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday, March 3 2022 ordered that two men be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old.
The culprits; Adesoji Adedeji, aged 37 and Yusuf Taiwo, aged 37 were charged with conspiracy and defilement by the police.
Magistrate I. O. Osho who did not take the plea of Messrs Adedeji and Taiwo for lack of jurisdiction explained that the court awaited legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Prosecution Counsel, Foluke Adedosu told the court that the suspects committed the offence in June 2019, stating that the offence is punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The case has however been adjourned till May 2, 2022, for mention.
