Reports emerging from the headquarters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), led by Dr. Gilbert Major Agbo and Sunday Ogini, indicates that ward and local elections elections have been conducted in several states.

The elections are coming despite an interim order from the Federal High Court in Abuja restraining the expelled National Executive Committee (NEC) members led by Abbah Kawu and Dipo Olayoku from facilitating or conducting internal elections from March 14.

It was gathered that the faction may have proceeded to conduct ward and local elections in several states, particularly in the Northern region of Nigeria.

In response to these alleged actions, the NNPP has issued a directive to all zonal vice-chairmen to urgently conduct internal investigations and submit reports within 48 hours to the national headquarters.

The NNPP also expressed disappointment in the disregard for the court order.

Thisbwqs made known in a statement, signed by Abdulsalam Abdulrazak, National Publicity Secretary of the NNPP.

The statement underscored the gravity of the situation and the need for adherence to legal processes in resolving internal party disputes.

'The NNPP remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the integrity of its internal processes amidst the current challenges faced by the party," the statement concluded.
