The Ondo state Governor,  Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Head of Service, Pastor Kayode Ogundele have been called upon to investigate the alleged Falsification of the date of birth by a Permanent Secretary, Abiodun Akintade.

Allnews.ng learned that Akintade was alleged to have falsified his date of birth from January 6th, 1964 to 6th of January 1966 in order to gain undue benefits in the service.

The call for investigation contained in two different letters signed by Salami Adekunle Jimoh, from Akoko North East Local Government Ikare – Akoko and Falajiki Abosede from Ifedore Local Government Area and addressed to Ondo State Head of Service and Chairman Ondo State Local Government Service Commission dated 4th and 6th October, 2023 and made copies available to journalists in Akure.

“I write on behalf of concerned workers in the Local Government Service of Ondo State to call the attention of your revered office to the deliberate corruptive act Mr. Akintade Abiodun, Permanent Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Department whose original Date of Birth is 6th January, 1964 as against the alleged falsified claim of 1966.

“It is imperative that this ignoble act of Mr. Akintade is brought to your attention because of the glaring genuine commitment of your administration in ensuring that the integrity of the Local Government Service of Ondo State is maintained.

“In view of this, we wish to humbly request your revered office to investigate this matter in good conscience as we are convinced that Mr. Akintade indeed deliberately falsified his age after the 2013 clean-up exercise in the Public Service of Ondo State.

Some of the documents attached to the petition that further proof the authenticity of the allegations including:

Photocopy of the Code of Conduct form on Asset Declaration for Public Officers dully completed and deposed to by Mr. Akintade at High Court of Ondo State on 14th May, 2018.

Photocopy of the Local Government Service Commission list of Directors of Local Government Administration ( DLGA) as of 20th June, 2018, where the name of Akintade is No. 12 on the list.

The Staff Nominal Roll of Akoko North East Local Government was prepared by him when he served as the Director of Local Government Administration (DLGA) in the Local Government in 2017. Akintade is No. 1 on the list.

” In order to further verify the corruptive tendency of Mr. Akintade, we wish to humbly request your office to investigate the falsification of his age from 1964 to 1966 through the update of his Bank Verification Number (BVN) at the First Bank of Nigeria in 2022.

“With the above and other documents that your office could get from his personal file, we are sure that your office will be able to ensure that justice is done.”

The petition reads in parts: “In view of this, we humbly request your highly revered office to as a matter of responsibility demand the Primary Six certificate of Mr. Abiodun Akintade from him and or better still, from the state ministry of education to avoid it being tampered with as already done by the ‘sit-tight’ Permanent Secretary. It is therefore, needless to say that his personal file which the Service Matter department of the office of Head of Service is depending on for fact finding is not only loose but, an altered and deliberately doctored file which will not produce any credible outcome. We call on your distinguished offices to use the instrument mentioned above plus the 2013 screening report for the administrative investigation, please.”

Also in her own letter, Falajiki Abosede said: “I write as a concerned local government worker who is determined to ensure that the integrity of the Local Government Service is preserved.

She therefore called for investigation right from the First Bank of Nigeria where he upgraded his BVN in 2022.
