Displeased with the hike in the price and scarcity of petroleum products, aggrieved protesters comprising mainly youths blocked the Lagos-Benin Expressway at Oluku Junction on Thursday.

Travellers en route to Lagos and those with business to conduct in the region ended up being stranded for hours as they decried the barricade on the popular expressway.

One of them who identified herself as a trader named Grace disclosed that she was transporting her goods to Ekiadolor.

According to her, she deals with perishable goods and she has to take them to the aforementioned location to avoid losses.

“It is unfortunate that this protesting is taking place because it will add to the existing problem.

“They are protesting for the right reasons.

"The fuel situation is hitting hard on everybody but blocking the roads will lead to losses for individuals who are going to do business", she said.

Additionally, Osahon, who is a driver revealed that the protest has caused many to be stranded.
