The robotic exoskeleton startup that created the Cray X, German Bionic, will feature two brand-new posture-protecting products at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
German Bionic's lightest exosuit to date is the Apogee, which leverages the knowledge gained while creating the Cray X.
Despite its light weight, it can remove up to 66 pounds of weight from the user's lower back with each lifting motion and provides active walking assistance to reduce fatigue.
On the other side, the SafetyVest doesn't actively assist the user in lifting heavy objects; nevertheless, it does track their movements and body positioning while they work, providing "data-based, tailored ergonomic insights, as well as assessments and recommended actions."
The German Bionic IO architecture is used by both Apogee and SafetyVest to gather, monitor, evaluate, and communicate the user's ergonomic data back to them.
When the user is actively engaging in risky movement, this is often done either through the onboard display or via audio notifications.

German Bionic will be presenting its products at CES, booth #7141 in the West Hall. Details are still scarce prior to the show.
