Getting COVID-19 Jab Obligatory For Workers In Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia on Friday said getting vaccinated against COVID-19 would be mandatory for all employees to attend their workplaces in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.

Saudi Arabia’s state news agency SPA, citing the Ministry of Human Resources, reported that vaccination would be a mandatory condition for employees of the private and public sectors to be present in their place of work.

The ministry said it would clarify soon the procedure and date of implementation.

A large foreign community lives in oil-wealthy Saudi Arabia.

The country has so far reported over 423,000 virus cases resulting in 7,032 deaths.

Meanwhile, the Ogun  State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the vaccination of intending pilgrims of the 2021 Hajj.

The Executive Secretary of the State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Babatunde Salau, made this known to newsmen in Abeokuta.

According to Salau,  the COVID-19 vaccination for intending pilgrims is in accordance with the directives of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
