Gombe: Yahaya hails VP Shettima's economic support

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has appreciated the Vice President, Kashim Shettima for his support commitment to the economic development of the state. 

Yahaya said the state is ready to receive the vice president who is launching the Outsource To Nigeria Initiative (OTNI) and commission the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Centre on Monday.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the governor's spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, the initiative is expected to pave way for the employment of 2,000 youths in the state.

The launching of the initiative and commissioning of the centre is scheduled to hold at the State International Conference Center along Gombe- Bauchi road by 9:00am.

The event is equally expected to host key stakeholders in the public and private sectors from within and outside Nigeria.

The statement partly reads: "The BPO center, the first in the Northeast sub-region and the biggest of its kind in Nigeria, is set to provide not less than 2,000 job opportunities to the vibrant and talented youth population of Gombe state in line with the visionary leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

"With the BPO center now established in Gombe, located at the Amina Mohammed Skills Acquisition Centre along Gombe- Biu Bypass, the state is poised to become a hub for outsourcing services, leveraging the skills and potential of its youths. 

"OTNI is a catalyst for change in the business process and technology-enabled outsourcing sector, and the fastest route to job security for the teeming youths in Gombe State and Nigeria at large.

"By keying into this initiative, the Inuwa Yahaya led administration has further demonstrated its commitment to providing sustainable employment opportunities and empowering the youths to contribute meaningfully to the state's development and progress."
