Gombe: Yahaya hails Yaro as revenue service targets N22 billion IGR

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has hailed the newly appointed chairperson of the State Internal Revenue Service, Hajiya Aisha Adamu Yaro as the service targets N22 billion Internally Generated Revenue for 2024.

The governor gave the commendation when he hosted the management team of the revenue service led by the chairperson at the State Government House on Saturday.

Governor Yahaya expressed confidence in the leadership of the revenue service and assured them of his support towards fulfilling their mandate.

He said: "We envision a state that can meet the needs of its people without relying on national allocation. I have confidence in you and I believe you can successfully deliver on the mandates given to you."

Meanwhile, on her part, the newly appointed chairperson, Hajiya Aisha Adamu Yaro appreciated the governor for finding her worthy of the opportunity to serve the people.

As contained in a statement by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the governor's spokesperson, while appreciating Governor Yahaya for his commitment to gender mainstreaming, she assured to deliver beyond expectations.

She said: "With all the support from His Excellency, the government should expect increased revenue and the people of Gombe State should expect improved service delivery from us.

"With the support we received from His Excellency and the political will, the service has raised the bar for revenue generation; we have set up an ambitious target of 22 billion Naira for the year 2024 – a significant 100% increase from the previous target."
