The chairman of Bagwai Local Government Council, Alhaji Inuwa Zangina Dangada has today received a new modern boat to aid mobility of people in the area and that of Badau in Bagwai Dam.
Speaking at the occasion, the Council Chairman, Inuwa Zangina Dangada said, the gesture was to further protect lives and properties of people of the area that is prone to boat mishaps.
In his remarks, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Murtala Sule Garo who was represented by the Director of inspection, Salisu Dan'azumi advised people in the area to complement government’s efforts of providing social amenities to them by ensuring their safety comes first.
On his part, the Emir of Bichi, who was represented by Makama of Bichi and District head of Tofa Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa expressed appreciation for the gesture .
The state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje will tomorrow conduct the official commissioning of the boat for public usage in Bagwai Dam.
