Zakaria Kraha, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the National Land Development Authority (NALDA) has been kidnapped, on Tuesday.
Also, the wife of a district head in Adamawa State was abducted with her three children.
It was gathered from a close friend of the Zakariya Kraha family that Kraha was kidnapped while returning home from Makurdi. It was further gathered that the kidnappers have contacted the family for ransom.
The abduction of the wife and three children of an Adamawa District Head, Ardo Mustapha Ahmadu also happened on Tuesday. The wife and her three children were abducted from their home in a community in Yola South Local Government Area.
Ahmadu is the District Head of Mayo-Farang, and he himself was kidnapped last year and had to pay a ransom of N10 million before he was released.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Suleiman Nguroje, the Spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command confirmed the kidnapping incident of the district head’s family, saying in his statements that “In the early hours of Tuesday, kidnappers attacked the residence of the District Head of Mayo-Farang and kidnapped his wife and three children."
He added that the Commissioner of Police has directed the anti-kidnapping and counter terrorism units to go after the assailants and rescue the victims.
