The Iyaganku Magistrates' Court in Ibadan, Wednesday ordered the remand of 44-year-old Olumide Monday in a correctional facility for alleged murder.
Monday, whose home location was not supplied, was accused of the murder of Usman Bala, age 35.
However, the Magistrate, Olaolu Olanipekun, refused to accept the defendant's plea due to a lack of jurisdiction.
He ordered the police to return the case file to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal counsel.
He then adjourned the case until March 27 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on February 1 at 11:00 a.m. on Iwo Road in Ibadan.
Amusan said that Monday unjustly killed Bala by stabbing him in the buttocks.
He said the offence violated Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
