Tricycle Operators in Kano have finally suspended the three-day strike action that partially grounded commercial and other activities in the state.

The lawyer representing the tricycle operators, Barrister Abba Hikima announced this on Wednesday night, assuring that operations would resume on Thursday.

He said the decision was reached after meetings with stakeholders including the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association, Kano branch, Managing Director of Kano Road Traffic Agency, Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, and the Depart of State Security.

The strike action was embarked upon on Monday following grievances by the tricycle operators on the cost of renewing an operating permit, indiscriminate apprehension by KAROTA officials, forced leadership of their association, and frequent harassment by the KAROTA officials.

They requested for the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje led-administration to consider the economic situation of the country, and ease the tax they have to pay daily.
