Kaduna: Sani launches infrastructural drive, breaks ground on 21st project

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has launched an infrastructural development agenda with 827-kilometre roads marked by the groundbreaking ceremony of the 21st road project in the state.

The governor who was speaking on Saturday while performing the groundbreaking for the construction of the 21st road project said it will create employment opportunities for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour.

The road is a 327-kilometre road linking College Road to Mashigi, stretching down to the Eastern Bypass of Millennium City, cutting across Igabi, Kaduna North and Chikun Local Government Areas of the State.

The governor assured of his administration's commitment to infrastructural development aimed at placing the state as a business hub for the North, adding that the 327 kilometres includes the main road linking College Road to Millennium City and other feeder roads within the various districts. 

The governor said: "During the construction period, employment opportunities would be created for skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labour.

"When completed, the road will ease movement of people and goods. Today’s event brings to 21 the number of roads I have performed their groundbreaking across our local governments since assumption of office. About 827 kilometres of roads are currently under construction. 

"We are ramping up our Infrastructural Development Drive. Our Rural Transformation Program is being executed concurrently with the Upgrade of Infrastructure in the Urban Areas. 

"The new investments flowing into Kaduna State are being supported by infrastructure upgrades. We are determined to make Kaduna State a business hub in the North and a choice destination for investors. We are putting Kaduna State on a sure path towards actualizing its potential."
