Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi has given the green light to reduce the official work hours for the state’s civil servants during Ramadan.
Auwal Manu-Dogondaji, the commissioner of the Ministry of Establishment, Pensions, and Training, made this announcement in a statement released in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
He said, “The official time frame has been reduced by two hours daily. Consequently, the new working hours from Monday to Thursday is 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., while on Friday, it is from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
“Normal working hours will be reverted to normal hours at the end of Ramadan period.”
The commissioner said the gesture was a demonstration of magnanimity by the governor in the spirit of Ramadan.
He said it was also to allow civil servants to discharge their normal religious activities with ease.
