The Kebbi State Government has attributed the irregular power supply in the state to the reduction in generation from the national grid, adding that the case was being experienced in other states.

The Special Adviser to Governor Nasir Idris on Power and Political Affairs, Alhaji Kabiru Sani stated this while addressing Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital on Wednesday.

He stressed that the governor had aken all necessary measures to ensure uninterrupted power supply during and after Ramadan, adding that the state has experienced reduction in power supply due to energy drop nationwide.

Sani also revealed that Governor Idris has procured 40 new transformers for distribution across the state to boost electricity supply, adding that the transformers will soon be commissioned.

The governor's aide said: "Under the arrangement, the six feeders serving the state capital have been allocated specific hours to distribute energy to consumers.

"Gov. Idris has placed premium on energy which is the foundation for economic growth; that is why he has also procured 40 new transformers which will soon be commissioned and installed to boost electricity supply in the state."

He further charged electricity consumers in the state to settle their monthly bills to enable the company serve them better.
