The Governor of Kebbi, Nasir Idris has approved the payment of N1.46 billion to state, local government and local government education authority workers in the state as leave grants.
The State Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena who conveyed the governor's approval in a statement on Friday said the total amount approved was N1,464,633,275.28.
He said the gesture was part of the governor's commitment to the welfare of workers in the state.
Yahaya Sarki, the governor's spokesperson in a statement said the governor's approval was also to support the workers in mitigating the effects of the current economic situation.
The head of the service further urged the workers to rededicate themselves to their duties for the development of the state as a payback for the governor's gesture.
He also called on them to use the Ramadan period to pray for Nigeria's peace, and progress, the state and Governor Idris to succeed.
