Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), responsible for distributing electricity in Kano, Katsina and Jigawa States have faulted calls to boycott the payment of the electricity bill on account of the blackout experienced in the state.

This is coming after calls from a group, Kano Youth Integrity Forum made calls to residents of Kano to stop accepting bills from KEDCO given the terrible state of power distribution in the state and its environs.

Chairman of the group, Comrade Sani Garba Danjuma said they will no longer accept the attitude of the power distribution company.

He accused KEDCO of 'flashing' electricity a day or two before its operatives come for the payment.

Responding to this, KEDCO's Head of Corporate Communication, Ibrahim Sani Shawai pleaded with the people of Kano and other areas, as he promised improvement in the supply.

Shawai also said the cause of the blackout has been identified and solved, promising a stable supply in the next coming days.

According to him, the company as of Sunday has received about 250 megawatts supply, adding that the problem would come to an end soon.
